The short version
Candy AI, if what you want is photographs and you want to know what they cost. Candy publishes its token costs — 2 tokens an image on V1, 4 on V2 — so 100 tokens is 50 pictures, or 25 on the better model. OurDream publishes a 1,000-DreamCoin allowance and nowhere on its upgrade page says what a coin buys.
OurDream, if what you want is voice. Their Premium is 20 minutes of voice calls a month and Deluxe is 100, both stated in minutes rather than in currency, plus 10 and 50 videos respectively. Candy prices calls at 3 tokens a minute out of the same balance as your images, which is a worse deal for a heavy talker and a clearer one for everybody else.
On money: OurDream Premium is $9.99 a month billed annually at $119.88, or $19.99 month to month. Candy's Premium annual works out around $4.31 a month at a 1.08 conversion. Candy is cheaper, and it is the only one of the two where you can turn the price into a picture count without an account.

There is no per-unit column here, and that is deliberate: Candy AI and OurDream AI do not sell the same countable thing, or one of them publishes an allowance and never publishes what it buys. Dividing money by that produces a confident number about nothing.
- Their prices are in euros and converted at 1.08 — an assumption, not a quote. Your card will do its own conversion and charge you for doing it.
- Their headline €3.99 is a twelve-month price, not a monthly one. Comparing it against a month-to-month plan is the comparison their shopfront invites and it is not an honest one, so the table puts annual against annual and monthly against monthly.
- Coins and credits are different units and the allowance column is not a comparison. Ours is 160 photographs; theirs is 1,000 coins of unstated purchasing power.
- Their annual plans also grant a one-off bonus — 1,000 coins on Premium, 5,000 on Deluxe — in the first month only. That is a signup bonus, so it is not in the table.
Candy AI free
Candy AI gives new accounts a one-off allowance of tokens to try the product. It is a welcome grant rather than a monthly one, so it runs out exactly when you have decided you like it, which is what a welcome grant is for.
OurDream AI free
OurDream has a free account with limited access. The upgrade page is where the numbers are, and it describes the paid tiers rather than the free one.
An allowance with no exchange rate
OurDream's upgrade page is unusually specific in places and silent in the one that matters. It tells you the plan includes 1,000 DreamCoins, 20 minutes of voice calls and 10 videos on Premium; 5,000 coins, 100 minutes and 50 videos on Deluxe. Videos and minutes are counted. Images are not.
So a buyer can answer "how many videos" and cannot answer "how many photographs", which for a product whose front page is photographs is an odd place to stop. Their FAQ has questions titled "What are Dreamcoins and what can I spend them on?" and "What happens if I run out of Dreamcoins?", neither of which opened to a signed-out browser.
Candy's number is 2 tokens an image and it is published. It is also the flattering half of their own story, since their V2 model costs 4 — but a published number you can argue with beats an unpublished one you cannot.
Fifty million, twice
OurDream's upgrade page says "Trusted by over 50m users". Candy is widely reported at around the same scale. We have no way to verify either figure and are not going to try; what is worth saying is what a number like that does and does not buy the person reading this.
It buys a deep character library, a moderated community publishing into it, and models with a great deal of other people's use behind them. Both have that. It is a real advantage over anything newer and neither of them is exaggerating its importance.
It does not buy a lower price per photograph, and it says nothing about whether your companion looks like herself in her fortieth picture. Scale and consistency are different properties and only one of them is testable in an evening on a free tier.

- Published per-action costs, so the plan can be turned into a picture count before you pay.
- Cheaper on a twelve-month term, at roughly $4.31 a month against $9.99.
- User personas, chat customisation, 20 memory slots and cloned chats on Premium Plus.
- A nameable operator — EverAI Limited, Malta — and a descriptor we can at least tell you in advance, even though they do not.
Where OurDream AI wins
- Voice calls counted in minutes and included in the plan: 20 a month on Premium, 100 on Deluxe. Candy meters calls out of the same tokens as your images.
- A stated video allowance — 10 and 50 a month — rather than a coin price you have to convert.
- Unlimited messages and unlimited audio messages on both paid tiers.
- Users can publish their own characters into the library, which is a content engine Candy does not have.
What we could not check
Both companies keep their checkout behind a signup. Where a number was not readable without an account it is listed here rather than taken from a review site that earns a commission on the answer.
- Candy AI: As of 30 August 2026 candy.ai shows no price to a signed-out browser — the plans are behind the registration modal. The euro figures above were read off their shopfront on 20 August and we have left the earlier date on them rather than restamping numbers we could not re-open.
- Candy AI: We have not put a card through their checkout, so the renewal price after the first twelve-month term is not something we can state.
- OurDream AI: What a DreamCoin buys. The upgrade page prices videos and voice minutes and never prices an image, so no per-image comparison appears here.
- OurDream AI: Whether coins roll over. Their FAQ has the question; the answer did not open to us.
- OurDream AI: The renewal price after the first annual term.
Our own answer to the exchange-rate problem is to not have one — a photograph is one credit and a video is three, printed on the pricing page — which is the argument our page on each of these makes at more length.
