Luvo AI vs SoulGen

Every figure checked 30 August 2026

The short version

Our verdict: Luvo

SoulGen publishes a full credit charge table: every model, every resolution, chat at 0.2 credits a message, a voice call at 1 credit a minute, and creating a companion at 10. Nobody else in this comparison set documents their unit economics that completely and it makes this the most exact page in the set.

Their Pro plan is 100 credits a month — $12.99 for a single month with no recurring charge, or $90.99 for twelve, which they show as $7.58 a month. An image of a consistent character costs 2 credits under "Looks Like", so 100 credits is 50 such images: about 26 cents each monthly, about 15 cents on the annual plan.

Luvo Plus annual is 160 photographs for $7.99 — about 5 cents — and Premium annual is 400 for $18.99, about 4.7. On consistent-character images we are roughly three times cheaper, at almost the same monthly price. On video, on model choice and on documentation, they are ahead.

  • Fifty images is their 100 credits divided by the 2 credits their table charges for an AI Character image with "Looks Like" — the setting that keeps the same face. Without it an image is 1 credit and you get 100, but you are no longer generating the same person, which is the entire comparison.
  • Their more expensive paths cost more: Human Modeling is 3 credits an image, Smart Edit on SoulOmni Pro is 6, or 8 at 2K. On those the 100-credit month is 33 images or 12.
  • Their single-month plan is explicitly "no recurring fees", which is unusual and good — it is a one-off purchase rather than a subscription that renews until you stop it.

What free gets you

SoulGen has a free tier. Their pricing page describes the Pro benefits and the credit charges rather than the free allowance, so we are not going to put a number on it.

What a published credit table actually lets you do

Their table prices twenty-odd distinct actions. Text chat 0.2 credits a message. Soul Chat image generation 2 credits. Voice call 1 credit a minute. Create a Soulmate 10 credits. Video from 15 to 40 credits per five seconds depending on model and resolution. Video editing 5 to 8 credits a second.

That means you can price your own month before you spend anything. A hundred credits is fifty consistent images, or five hundred chat messages, or a hundred minutes of voice, or about thirty seconds of 1080p video on their best model — and you can mix them and know where you land.

It is the standard the rest of this category should be held to, and it is the standard this whole set of comparison pages was written to apply. Seven of the twenty-one products compared here publish enough to do that arithmetic. The rest publish an allowance and no exchange rate.

Where the three-times gap comes from

Fifty consistent images a month against our hundred at the same monthly price, or a hundred and sixty at the same annual one. That is not because we are cleverer; it is the two products making a different bet about what a month looks like.

SoulGen sells video seriously — six models, two resolutions, an extend function, upload support — and video is the expensive thing. A credit that has to be able to become five seconds of 1080p video is priced against that, and images are cheap against the same unit.

We price a credit against a realistic photograph, because that is the thing we are for, and video is three of them. Our video is worse and cheaper; theirs is better and dearer. If video is the point for you, the arithmetic at the top of this page is the wrong arithmetic.

Chat at 0.2 credits a message

Worth pulling out because it is the clearest illustration of why we give chat away. Their own table prices a message at a fifth of a credit — so five messages cost what one image costs, and a month of five hundred messages costs the same as fifty images.

Priced that way, a heavy conversation month consumes a whole plan. On our side a month of 1,200 messages costs us about three cents of inference, which is one photograph, so metering it would mean charging for the retention.

Their number and our cost are not in conflict, incidentally. 0.2 credits at their annual rate is about 1.5 cents a message, which is well above what inference costs — it is a margin decision, not a cost one, and it is the normal one for this category.

Where SoulGen is better

Documentation. Their credit charge table is the best in this entire comparison set and it is better than ours — we price three actions and they price twenty.

Video, by a distance: six models, 720p and 1080p, five-second units, an extend function, reference-to-video and video editing by the second. Ours is one three-credit clip.

Voice calls at 1 credit a minute — conversation, not playback. We match that price exactly, and ours put her on screen while you talk; theirs are on the free tier and ours need a plan.

A one-month plan that explicitly does not recur. That is a genuinely customer-friendly structure and we do not offer it — our monthly plan is a subscription.

What we could not check

Every one of these products puts its checkout behind a signup. Where a number was not readable without an account, it is listed here rather than taken from a review site that earns a commission on the answer.

  • The free tier's allowance.
  • Whether the annual plan renews at $90.99 or at the $155.88 comparison price.
  • Image quality and face consistency against ours, measured rather than asserted.

Same girl, anywhere

Four shoots of Vera — different clothes, different city, different weather. Nothing re-rolled: every one is an edit of the first.

vera · neon street in the rain
3am, in the rain
vera · off-shoulder knit, hotel bar
the hotel bar
vera · slip dress, windy balcony
balcony, golden hour
vera · knitwear, falling snow
the last train home

Those four cost four credits. Run the same test on SoulGen — both products have a free tier — and put the faces side by side. If ours does not hold up, none of the arithmetic above matters and you should ignore this page.

SoulGen against the others

Head-to-heads we are not in. Same rules, and the verdict names one of the two.

Method

Plan prices and every credit charge quoted above were read off soulgen.ai/pricing on the date above from a signed-out browser.

Image counts are their 100 credits divided by their own published per-image charge for the path being compared. The headline uses "Looks Like" at 2 credits because that is the setting that produces the same person twice.

Our own figures on every page in this set are mirrored from the file the product bills from, and a server test fails the build if a page and that file disagree. Being wrong about our own prices, on the pages arguing about prices, is the one mistake that costs more than these pages can earn back.
